App Permissions
Last updated: 13 July 2026
WellnessCoach Platform only requests the device permissions needed to power specific features you choose to use. We never request a permission "just in case" — each one below is tied to an explicit action you take in the app (e.g. tapping a camera icon), and the OS-level permission prompt appears only at that moment.
We do not request access to your precise location, contacts, microphone, or call log. The only permissions the app can request are Camera and Photos/Media (gallery), described below.
Camera
Used when you choose to take a new photo directly within these features:
| Feature | What it's for | Who uses it |
|---|---|---|
| Meal Photo Log | Log a photo of a meal as part of your diet tracking | Customer |
| Challenge Task Submission | Submit a photo to complete a fitness challenge task (some tasks require camera-only capture to verify authenticity) | Customer |
| Profile / Avatar Picture | Take a new photo to use as your profile picture | Customer Coach Admin |
| Attendance QR Scan | Scan the wellness center's check-in QR code to mark attendance | Customer |
| Program QR Scan | Scan a QR code to check in to a group fitness program/session | Customer |
Photos / Media (Gallery)
Used when you choose to pick an existing photo from your device instead of taking a new one:
| Feature | What it's for | Who uses it |
|---|---|---|
| Meal Photo Log | Attach an existing photo of a meal | Customer |
| Challenge Task Submission | Attach an existing photo for tasks that allow gallery uploads (camera-only tasks do not offer this option) | Customer |
| Profile / Avatar Picture | Choose an existing photo as your profile picture | Customer Coach Admin |
| Coach Results | Attach a client's before/after transformation photo | Coach Admin |
| Form Attachments | Attach a supporting photo to a form response (e.g. prospect intake form) | Customer Coach |
| Checkup / Progress Photo | Attach a photo to a health checkup or weight-log entry | Customer Coach |
How Permissions Are Requested
- The app asks for camera or photo library access only the first time you use a feature that needs it — via your device's standard OS permission dialog (or your browser's permission prompt on the web version).
- You can decline a request and still use the rest of the app; only the specific photo-related action will be unavailable.
- You can revoke camera or photo permissions at any time from your device's Settings app (or your browser's site settings on web) without affecting your account.
